The reader also has no business deciding what to apply, at what rate, or whether conditions were suitable. Wind speed at application is a judgment your tech makes standing on the lawn, looking at the neighbor's vegetable garden and the pond across the street. Software can record that judgment and flag when it is missing. It cannot make it, and any product that offers to should be shown the door.

Finally: do not let this touch your customer notification or posting obligations. Flags, signs, prior notification lists for sensitive registrants — those stay exactly where they are, run by a person who knows the route.
